The University of Cincinnati seeks a Speech Pathologist in the Department of Otolaryngology within the College of Medicine. In this role, you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and swallowing disorders in diverse patient populations, collaborate with ENT physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and contribute to evidence-based clinical practices. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations, developing individualized treatment plans, maintaining accurate documentation, and participating in quality improvement and teaching activities. Conduct comprehensive evaluations of speech, language, voice, resonance, and swallowing for adult and selected pediatric patients
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans for communication and swallowing disorders
Perform and interpret instrumental swallowing assessments such as VFSS and/or FEES, as credentialed
Collaborate with otolaryngologists and other multidisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care across inpatient and outpatient settings
Document assessments, treatment sessions, and outcomes accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatment options, compensatory strategies, and home exercise programs
Participate in or support clinical research and quality-improvement initiatives within the Department of Otolaryngology
Contribute to teaching and supervision of students, residents, fellows, or other learners in the academic medical environment
Maintain active state licensure, national certification, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards
Engage in continuing education to stay current with advances in speech-language pathology and otolaryngology-related care
Clinical assessment of speech, language, voice, and swallowing
Videofluoroscopic swallow studies (VFSS) and/or FEES administration and interpretation
Voice and resonance evaluation and therapy techniques
Management of head and neck cancer–related communication and swallowing disorders
Electronic health record documentation
Interdisciplinary care coordination in an academic medical center
Evidence-based treatment planning and outcome measurement
Patient and family education and counseling
Participation in clinical research or quality-improvement projects
Clinical supervision and teaching of students or trainees

Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
Current Ohio state license (or eligibility) in Speech-Language Pathology
Clinical competency in dysphagia assessment and treatment, including instrumental assessments
Experience or training in voice and upper airway disorders within an otolaryngology/ENT setting
BLS/CPR certification for healthcare providers
