Perform routine and complex diagnostic radiographic examinations for inpatient and outpatient populations on a 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. Saturday–Monday schedule
Accurately position patients and select appropriate exposure factors to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
Operate digital radiography equipment and PACS, ensuring correct image labeling, transmission, and archiving
Apply radiation safety and ALARA principles to protect patients, staff, and self, following institutional and regulatory guidelines
Verify patient identity, review orders, and screen for contraindications or special preparation requirements prior to imaging
Provide clear, compassionate explanations of procedures and instructions to patients and families, addressing questions and concerns
Assist with safe patient handling, transfers, and immobilization, including care for patients with limited mobility or high acuity
Maintain exam rooms and equipment in a clean, safe, and ready state; promptly report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns
Document procedures, observations, and relevant clinical information accurately in the electronic medical record
Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate imaging and communicate urgent needs
Follow infection prevention and control practices, including cleaning and disinfecting equipment and accessories between patients
Participate in ongoing education, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department
Diagnostic radiography (X-ray) for adult and pediatric patients
Operation of digital radiography and PACS systems
Radiation safety and ALARA principles
Patient positioning and immobilization techniques
Aseptic and infection control practices
Venipuncture and IV contrast assistance (if applicable to scope)
EMR/EHR documentation (e.g., Epic or similar)
Basic life support (BLS) procedures
Image quality assessment and troubleshooting
Communication with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff
Time management in high-volume clinical settings
Safe patient handling and transfer techniques

Current ARRT certification in Radiography (R) or eligibility within designated timeframe
Current South Carolina Radiologic Technologist license (or eligibility for licensure)
Current BLS/CPR certification
Prior clinical experience in an acute care or hospital radiology department preferred
Competency with digital radiography and PACS systems
