The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) is seeking an Outpatient Physical Therapist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this part-time role, you will evaluate and treat patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, and movement disorders in an outpatient setting, developing individualized care plans to restore function and improve quality of life. You will collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary team members, document patient progress, and provide patient and family education. Provide evidence-based outpatient physical therapy evaluations and treatments for adult patients with orthopedic, neurologic, and musculoskeletal conditions.
Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized plans of care based on assessment findings, patient goals, and clinical best practices.
Deliver therapeutic interventions including therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, neuromuscular re-education, gait and balance training, and appropriate modalities.
Document all patient encounters, assessments, interventions, and progress notes accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on diagnosis, prognosis, home exercise programs, self-management strategies, and injury prevention.
Collaborate with referring providers, physicians, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate and optimize patient care.
Monitor and reassess patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and participate in discharge planning and transition of care.
Ensure compliance with state licensure laws, professional practice standards, HIPAA, and all MUSC and departmental policies and procedures.
Participate in quality improvement, outcomes tracking, and, when appropriate, clinical education or research-related activities within the department.

Current South Carolina Physical Therapist license (or eligibility to obtain prior to start)
Graduation from CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program (DPT preferred)
Current BLS/CPR certification
Experience in outpatient orthopedics and/or neurologic rehab preferred
Prior experience with EMR systems preferred
Eligibility to supervise PT students preferred
