Description
The University of Vermont Health Network seeks an Occupational Therapist or Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant to provide evidence-based rehabilitation services across our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this collaborative, patient-centered, academic environment, you will evaluate functional abilities, develop and deliver individualized treatment plans, and educate patients and families to promote independence and quality of life. Working with an interdisciplinary team, you’ll support diverse communities, use advanced medical technology, contribute to research and quality initiatives, and grow professionally through ongoing learning and mentorship.Evaluate patients’ functional abilities and limitations using standardized assessments.
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans to improve independence and quality of life.
Provide ADL/IADL training, therapeutic activities, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, PTs, SLPs, and other team members on coordinated care plans.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, safety, and self-management.
Document assessments, goals, interventions, and outcomes in the EHR accurately and timely.
Participate in quality improvement, clinical education, and professional development activities.
Support a culture of inclusion, respect, and patient-centered, research-informed care.
Occupational therapy evaluation and treatment
ADL/IADL training
Therapeutic exercise and manual techniques
Neurorehabilitation techniques
Pediatric or adult rehab intervention planning
Patient and family education
Interdisciplinary team collaboration
Electronic health record (EHR) documentation
Care planning and goal setting
Evidence-based practice and outcome measurement
