The Culinary Institute of America’s Copia campus in Napa Valley is a premier food, wine, and hospitality destination that blends consumer programming, culinary education, retail, dining, and events within an expansive 80,000-square-foot facility. Home to signature attractions like the Hestan Teaching Kitchen, the Chuck Williams Culinary Arts Museum, Grove Restaurant, and Wine Bar at Copia, the campus serves as the CIA’s hub for guest-facing experiences in the heart of Napa Valley. The General Manager of Copia is a high-impact leadership role responsible for driving the campus’s strategic positioning, operational excellence, and financial performance while overseeing all guest experience revenue streams across both Copia and Greystone campuses. Reporting to the Vice President of Consumer Businesses & Chief Guest Experience Officer, the GM combines executive leadership, entrepreneurial vision, and hands-on operational management to grow revenue, strengthen partnerships, and elevate the overall guest experience. The role carries full P&L responsibility for Copia and collaborates closely with Greystone leadership to support the CIA’s broader Napa Valley strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-campus strategy, business planning, and guest experience growth for the Copia and Greystone campuses.
- Own Copia’s P&L and oversee revenue-generating operations including events, retail, F&B, facilities, and hospitality.
- Drive operational excellence across programming, partnerships, technology, and campus operations.
- Build and lead high-performing teams grounded in accountability and guest-first service.
- Serve as CIA’s Napa Valley ambassador, cultivating partnerships that elevate brand visibility and growth.
Candidate Profile
- Hospitality executive with 10+ years leading complex, revenue-driven operations and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record of P&L leadership, revenue growth, partnerships, and operational execution.
- Strategic and financially astute leader with expertise across events, retail, F&B, and guest experience.
- Entrepreneurial, influential, and externally facing executive with strong team leadership and communication skills.
- Preferred experience includes luxury hospitality, destination venues, property management, and business ownership.
- Success measured by growth, profitability, guest satisfaction, operational excellence, partnerships, and team performance.
