Description

The Administration & Finance Manager – HSC assists the Sr. Director, Finance and Administration – HSC, in overseeing the daily operations of School of Medicine. The position provides high level guidance, instruction and assistance to all HSC Schools for finance and personnel matters.  Specific duties include:

• Review and analyze department/center/institute finances and personnel data for SOM staff reclassification and in-range requests; includes making approval recommendations to the second line approver (SOM Dean, HSC CFO, and/or Sr. Director)
• Review and analyze department/center/institute finances to give first line HSC approval for authorizations to hire (ATHs) and additional pays; includes making approval recommendations to the second line approver (SOM Dean, HSC CFO, and/or Sr. Director)
• Oversight of SOM/HSC Financial Affairs purchases
• Act as liaison for HSC Financial Affairs/SOM Deans office to department administrators to clarify policy, answer questions, resolve processes
• Provide financial analysis upon request
• Prepare budgets and budget revisions for Dean/HSC Financial Affairs
• Review and approve budget revisions for all SOM departments
• Review and approve access requests for various enterprise applications for SOM
• Signator/approver for SOM Dean, HSC CFO, and Sr. Director financial and personnel requests
• Act in the Sr. Director’s stead in her absence

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field

7 years of related finance and personnel management experience

Preferred qualifications:  3-5 years of experience in a lead finance role in either higher education or an academic medical center
